Opinion: Proposed Pet Restrictions Would Hurt Connecticut Families And Pets

A bill to ban sales of dogs, cats, and bunnies in Connecticut pet shops is barking up the wrong tree. While well-intentioned, such bans are counterproductive and would harm both families and pets in the state.

Retail bans do nothing to address illegal and unethical breeders, but they devastate responsible local businesses. Connecticut has some of the strongest pet and consumer protections in the country.
